If in office, Submit verification for Homeless Assistance via the drop box using the provided Homeless Assistance envelopes located in the lobby. Verification can also be submitted for Homeless Assistance via email and fax. Do not use these methods of submitting verification for your CalWORKs case as this may delay processing time.
FRAUD ALERT: USDA Warns of Scam Targeting SNAP Recipients
September 10, 2020 – USDA issued the following notice today to protect SNAP participants, after receiving reports of several possible SNAP Fraud attempts:
Be aware of a scam using texting to obtain your personal information. The text might say you were chosen to receive food stamps or SNAP. If you do not know if a request for information about SNAP is real or not, contact your local SNAP office.
Never share personal information with individuals or organizations that you do not know. Personal information includes your social security number, bank information, or SNAP electronic benefits transfer card or PIN number.
If you think the text is a scam, do not reply at all. Just delete.
Unemployment Benefit Recipients
Are you receiving unemployment benefits and have questions regarding eligibility?
Starting April 28th CalFresh recipients can now use their EBT card to buy food online at Amazon and participating Walmart locations for home delivery (minimum purchase of $35). Go to https://www.cdss.ca.gov/ebt-online for more info.
